You Probably Have Free Tickets from Ticketmaster

Congratulations, you got ripped off.

We are near the end of the mandated period for Ticketmaster to notify beneficiaries of a $400 million class action settlement reached last month. And since the settlement applies to anyone who purchased tickets on Ticketmaster’s website between October 21st, 1999 and February 27th, 2013 – a group that totals around 50 million people—there’s a good chance you’re a lucky winner.
Or, to be more precise, a lucky victim. The suit, Curt Schlesinger et al. v. Ticketmaster, claimed that Ticketmaster’s fees during the period were deceptive and misleading. Specifically, Ticketmaster’s Order Processing Fee and UPS delivery fees were found to be unrelated to the actual costs of those services, but merely, as described by the firm administering the claim, “profit generators.”
Get Data Sheet, Fortune’s technology newsletter.
The involvement of UPS shipping for tickets hints at just how old this litigation is—the suit was initially filed more than a decade ago.
Though the settlement’s small-dollar rebates initially inspired some ire, it looks like class members will also be getting free vouchers for tickets—one pair per purchase during the settlement period. The tickets will be good for shows at venues owned or operated by LiveNation, which merged with Ticketmaster in 2010. Both vouchers and tickets should be reflected automatically in the Ticketmaster/LiveNation accounts of eligible customers.
It’s unclear exactly how useful the free ticket vouchers will really be, though. They’ll only be redeemable, according to Billboard, if class members don’t redeem their discount codes in sufficient numbers in the coming year. Even when they’re activated, the tickets will only be good for a limited selection of events, though the settlement requires that they cover 60% of events in LiveNation operated amphitheaters.

As Slate previously reported, even this modest, complicated payout may be among the last of its kind. Companies have overwhelmingly adopted the practice of including arbitration clauses their terms of use agreements with customers, prohibiting them from pursuing restitution through the court system. Ticketmaster itself implemented such a clause in 2011.
The impact of the settlement (which you can read here) on future customers isn’t exactly mind-blowing. When Ticketmaster charges a processing fee from here on out, it merely has to inform customers that it “may include a profit” for the company.

Mexico (2-1-0) faces Chile (2-0-1) in a Copa America quarterfinal game at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, at 10 p.m. Eastern on Saturday, June 18, 2016.
Here's what you need to know:
Who: Mexico vs. Chile
What: Copa America quarterfinal
When: Saturday, June 18, 2016
Where: Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara, Calif.
Time: 10 p.m. Eastern
TV: FX, Univision and Univision Deportes
Livestream: Fox Soccer2GoFoxSportsGo
Juan Carlos Osorio has Mexico winning his way.
Osorio's mixing-and-matching methodology for his lineup might be scrutinized by some and far from universally popular back home, yet at least some of his players believe it gives El Tri a much-needed edge that is working pretty well if not completely consistently just yet.
Everybody must stay sharp and ready, because you don't know when your name might be called in this CopaAmerica tournament. A little healthy competition? You bet.
The coach strays from steady, predictable decisions and seems to go with his gut depending on opponent and situation — and who's got the hot foot.
No arguing the results. And Mexico hopes that winning its group is just the start of a special Copa America run.
Up next is a quarterfinal matchup against defending Copa champion and fifth-ranked Chile on Saturday night at sold-out Levi's Stadium, where this very well could be the most hyped-up atmosphere yet for a sporting event at the 2-year-old, $1.3 billion stadium — perhaps topping this year's Super Bowl — with 70,000 people expected. Hugely popular, Mexico is almost like a home team in this Copa, being played in the United States for the first time with a special 100th anniversary tournament featuring six nations from North and Central America and the Caribbean.
Osorio has used three different goalkeepers in as many matches so far this Copa America, and 21 of his 23 players on the roster have suited up for at least one game.
"I'm all up for the rotations because that helps you to stay in top shape all the time knowing that you have a shot to be the starter every game," defender Paul Aguilar said. "We respect what the coach is doing and, for me, it helps to stay focused."
Mexico is ranked 16th in the world and riding a 22-game undefeated streak, its best ever and topping an unbeaten stretch of 21 consecutive matches by the 2004-05 team coached by Argentinian Ricardo La Volpe.

2017 Coachella tickets go on sale Wednesday

Though it seems like only yesterday our Instagram feeds were deluged by festival season's wave of flower crowns, metallic tattoos and peace signs, it's already time again to fork out the cash to secure next year's Coachella tickets.
The tickets go on sale starting at 11 a.m. and will run you $399 for general admission. If your wallet is still recovering from this year's music and arts fest in the desert, you can purchase your passes in seven $57 payments through December, but be aware this is the only chance you'll have to take advantage of that offer.
All other passes and reservations are also available for payment plans during Wednesday's advance sale, with the exception of the $7,000 Safari Tent. Event passes do not include car or tent camping spaces, which are sold separately, but you have to buy a festival pass to reserve a camping space.

At least 4 dead in shooting at Tel Aviv market

At least 4 dead in shooting at Tel Aviv market

At least four people were killed in a shooting in central Tel Aviv Wednesday that police are describing as aimed against Israelis.
A Fox News producer in Jerusalem confirmed the death toll and said five others who were wounded are in severe condition.
The attack took place around 10 p.m. local time in an upscale area of cafes and restaurants near the central military headquarters and Defense Ministry compound.
John Huddy reports from Israel
The two attackers were described to Fox News as Palestinian cousins from Yata in the Hebron area of the West Bank who were known to Israeli authorities. The two attackers were both dressed as Orthodox Jews, a law enforcement source told Fox News.
One of the suspects was shot by police, while the other one was captured by authorities, Israeli Police Spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld told Fox News. The suspect shot by police is in moderate condition at a nearby hospital, according to Rosenfeld.

One of the suspects was shot by police, while the other one was captured by authorities, Israeli Police Spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld told Fox News. The suspect shot by police is in moderate condition at a n

earby hospital, according to Rosenfeld.

The weapons used by the attackers included a "Karl Gustav improvised machine gun," Israeli police told Fox News.
Meital Sassi told Channel 10 TV she was out with her family celebrating her son's birthday when she heard shots and "immediately understood it was a terror attack."
"We ran like lighting with the baby and the stroller.... I yelled at people who didn't understand what was happening to run," she said.
Tel Aviv district police chief Moshe Edri told Haaretz there was no prior terror alert before the shooting took place.
The Ynet news website showed CCTV footage of civilians running into a nearby restaurant to take cover.
Shlomi Hajaj, director of the market, told Channel 10 that security guards at the entrance "prevented the attackers from entering the facility, averting a bigger disaster as the compound was packed with people."
Channel 10 cited witnesses as saying the two attackers were dressed in suits and ties and spent time in a nearby restaurant, sitting at the bar, before the attack. It showed footage of police forensic teams dressed in white suits examining items in restaurants at the scene.
Police told Reuters that Israelis were the focus of the attack.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with his defense minister and security leaders shortly after the attack and then traveled to the scene. He called the attack a "cold blooded murder by despicable terrorists," according to a statement from his office.
Hamas, the Islamic militant group that rules Gaza, welcomed the attack but did not claim responsibility for it. Hamas official Mushir al-Masri called the shootings a "heroic operation" and the group later issued an official statement promising the "Zionists" more "surprises" during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
U.S. State Department spokesman Mark Toner condemned the "horrific terrorist attack" in a statement, saying "cowardly attacks against innocent civilians can never be justified."
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said in a statement he was shocked that Hamas leaders "chose to welcome this attack."
Israel has been struggling to cope with eight months of Palestinian attacks that have killed 28 Israelis and two Americans. About 200 Palestinians have been killed during that time, most identified as attackers by Israel.

Washington a immédiatement condamné l’attentat. « Les Etats-Unis condamnent dans les termes les plus forts l’attaque terroriste effroyable à Tel-Aviv (...) Ces attaques lâches contre des citoyens innocents ne peuvent jamais être justifiées », a expliqué le porte-parole du département d’Etat, Mark Toner, dans un communiqué.

Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama split after six year romance, admit they're 'better as best friends'

It's over for Wilmer and Demi
Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama have split after six years together.
The couple announced their decision to end their relationship in a joint statement on social media, where they claimed to be "better as best friends".
"After almost 6 loving and wonderful years together, we have decided to end our relationship," the statement began.
"This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends. We will always be supportive of one another. Thank you to everyone who has offered us kindness and support over the years."

The split will come as a shock to fans as the couple showing no signs of tension between them and Demi was even talking marriage in February.
Appearing on the Ellen Show the singer admitted she was ready to tie the knot with her boyfriend.
When Degeneres asked if there was any truth to the rumour they were engaged, Lovato, 23, lifted up her left hand and said: “I don’t see a ring… I wouldn’t mind if I saw one.”
The couple began dating in 2010 and after initially raising eyebrows over the 13-year age gap, were reluctant to talk openly about the romance.

Over the last few years though they've been more open about the relationship with Demi praising the That 70's Show star for helping her with her personal issues.
Earlier this year she told Latina Magazine: "When I dated white guys, it wasn't as passionate as my relationship with Wilmer. Maybe that's just Wilmer. But I do believe that Latin people are just more expressive, more passionate with their emotions."
“He's protective and he cares so much and loves so hard. I've been blessed enough to have him in my life, and not just as my man, but also my best friend.
"I've been my heaviest in my relationship with Wilmer and also been my thinnest.
"He's seen it all and loves me equally, and it gives me confidence to know that."

They were together six years
They seemed head-over-heels at the Grammy Awards in February, where the singer performed alongside Lionel Ritchie.
Praising his girlfriend on Instagram, he wrote alongside a picture of the couple on the night: "To describe last night wouldn't come close to how it feels to see you win! So proud of you @ddlovato, but even more proud of your hard work.. Last night undeniably you set a new standard.. And I get to say I was there when... I love you angel."

In an apparent outage Friday afternoon starting at 2:10 PM PST, subscribers of certain cell phone service providers were not able to use the internet, nor make outgoing nor receive incoming calls. Calling Cricket Wireless' customer service 1800 Cricket number, yields only a fast busy signal.

Thursday's Apple outage began between 3 and 4 p.m. ET, when services like Apple TV, Find my iPhone, Mail Drop, and iTunes in the Cloud were also unavailable for some users, according to Apple's support website, which tracks system issues.
Cricket Wireless was founded in 1999 by Leap Wireless International, Inc. On July 12, 2013, AT&T Inc. agreed to acquire Cricket's parent company Leap Wireless International for $1.2 billion. The merger was approved by the Federal Communications Commission on March 13, 2014, and later that same day, Leap Wireless announced the completion of its acquisition by AT&T.

Views From The 6 reviews: Drake's new album sends Twitter into meltdown

Fans have had to wait three years for Drake's official follow-up to his 2013 album Nothing Was The Same, and it looks like the rapper has not disappointed. The Young Money star sent the internet into a frenzy when he finally unveiled Views From The 6 on Friday (29 April).
The highly anticipated record, which was released exclusively to Apple Music and iTunes, features collaborations with industry heavyweights including dancehall artiste PopCaan, rapper Pimp C , afrobeats star Wizkid and Jay Z.

Judging by reactions so far, the Canadian heartthrob has excelled. Twitter has erupted with heaps of praise for Views From the Six, with many describing the LP as his best work yet. One Twitter user hinted that the record would likely spawn hilarious memes saying: "#Views got me thinking about mistake I haven't even made yet."
However, the record, which infuses elements of dancehall and afrobeats, has received some controversy with a number of listeners claiming that it wasn't a "rap album". In 2015 he released the chart-topping mixtapes If You're Reading This, It's Too Late and What A Time To

Before the big reveal the 29-year-old, real name Aubrey Graham, made sure to create a buzz by posting a snap of the tracklist. In addition to previously heard tracks One Dance, Pop Style and Controlla, new songs on the 20-track record include Hype, Grammys, Childs Play and Views. His summer smash Hotline Bling is listed as a bonus track.
Meanwhile, fans will be able to see the hip-hop star live on stage this summer when he teams up with frequent collaborator and fellow rapper Future for their Summer Sixteen tour. They will kick things off in Austin on 20 July and make stops in Chicago and New York before wrapping up in Vancouver on 17 September. The duo previously teamed up for the mixtape What a Time to be Alive and also appeared together on the Jungle tour and Would You Like a Tour? They have also released details of meet-and-greet packages and added eight extra dates to the string of anticipated live shows.

Capitol Journal Ted Cruz picking Carly Fiorina as his running mate? It's a gambit bound to fail

Capitol Journal Ted Cruz picking Carly Fiorina as his running mate? It's a gambit bound to fail

Pardon me, but this has been tried before: desperately naming a running mate prior to a national convention. It’s a losing gambit.
OK, maybe the third time will be the charm.
Ronald Reagan failed miserably in 1976 when he chose liberal Republican Sen. Richard B. Schweiker of Pennsylvania as his running mate nearly two months before the convention. Schweiker became a burden. Delegates nominated President Ford.
Jerry Brown looked even more lame in 1992 when he tapped the Rev. Jesse Jackson to be his vice president prior to the New York primary. Brown lost the primary he could have won to Bill Clinton. Then he tumbled downhill quickly.

It’s always possible that Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s selection Wednesday of Carly Fiorina as his running mate will help him gain traction as he chases Donald Trump for the Republican nomination. This is a cockeyed presidential contest, after all.
But such a scenario is hard to envision realistically.
Cruz’s strategists obviously are targeting California, where Fiorina won the Republican nomination for U.S. senator in 2010 and presumably retains some party appeal. California is seen as the last roadblock to prevent Trump from clinching the nomination before the Cleveland convention.
But Cruz still needs to win Tuesday in Indiana.
And to use a basketball analogy for the Hoosier State, which thrives on the sport, Cruz’s veep selection looks like a half-court shot at the buzzer. That almost never works.
Anyway, while Cruz has Fiorina, Trump has Bobby Knight, the legendary Indiana Hoosiers basketball coach. Knight is a strong fan who has been campaigning alongside the front-runner.
“Is it a game changer? No, I don’t see it that way,” says veteran political strategist Marty Wilson, referring to Cruz’s selection of Fiorina. Wilson managed Fiorina’s 2010 Senate campaign.
Fiorina won the Republican primary in a near-landslide over two competitors. Then she lost to Democratic incumbent Barbara Boxer by 10 points.
“Cruz has to stand on his own in Indiana,” Wilson says. “If I were running Cruz’s campaign, I’d have him camped out in Indiana and have Carly come out here until [the California primary] June 7.
“But if he can win in Indiana, then that makes California very darn interesting. She’s an effective campaigner.”
Of course, Fiorina would have been perfectly happy to campaign for Cruz anyway, whether as a running mate or a surrogate. She endorsed him long ago after quitting the race herself — and after Trump had mocked her face, sarcastically remarking it was a turnoff and nonpresidential.
Still, I can’t imagine any Trump supporters abandoning the insult artist to vote for the Cruz-Fiorina ticket. If she’d had that kind of drawing power, it would have been seen in Iowa or New Hampshire, where she lagged far behind and dropped out.
Fiorina did perform well in the debates, but couldn’t transform that into votes.
And although Fiorina can be very pleasant in person, on the presidential trail she often came across as bitter and a bit mean — not exactly the counterweight Cruz should be looking for.
Nevermind that Fiorina has never held public office — not one. Yet, Cruz is choosing her as a stand-in for president of the United States.
Yes, Trump has never held office either. But Cruz isn’t exactly letting that slide.
If Wednesday’s announcement was about placing a woman on the ticket to counter Hillary Clinton’s historic candidacy, Cruz is getting way ahead of himself. First the nomination.
Moreover, choosing a running mate at this early stage deprives a campaign of some fun and mystique. Veep speculation helps to keep the public awake and semi-interested.
Cruz has also now snubbed his nose at every other vice presidential wannabe. So forget him.
But he has erected an inviting target for Democrats.
“Are they going to run on [Cruz’s] record of shutting down the government and denying climate science, or on her record of exporting American jobs, tanking Hewlett Packard’s stock price when she was CEO and losing the 2010 California Senate race?” California Democratic Party Chairman John Burton asked in a prepared statement.
“It’s a marriage made in heaven.”
I traipsed around with Reagan, covering him for The Times as he tried to control the damage caused by his selection of Schweiker 40 years ago. The conservative former California governor was attempting to attract moderate delegates from the Rust Belt, but really riled up southerners.
A hand-holding trip to Jackson, Miss., particularly stands out. One delegate, asked about Schweiker, told me: “I am still chewing on him. I can’t get him down.”

By the Kansas City convention, Schweiker was offering to just go away. Reagan figured that would look even worse. So he rejected the offer.
Brown’s selection of Jackson was truly boneheaded.
The then-former California governor was trying to attract black voters. But roughly a third of Democratic voters in New York were Jewish. Many regarded Jackson as anti-Semitic because he had embraced Palestine Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat and had referred to New York City as “Hymietown.”
Brown wound up getting only 10% of the Jewish vote. And Clinton still won among blacks.
“Jerry Brown would have won New York if he had not selected Jackson,” Tom Quinn, his longtime political advisor who had shied away from the 1992 campaign, told me back then. “A lot of people were offended.”
It’s usually best not to get burdened with these veeps until the convention.

Gareth Bale fails to shine in draw that leaves Real Madrid the happier

Gareth Bale fails to shine in draw that leaves Real Madrid the happier

Eventually Cristiano Ronaldo didn't make it out on to the pitch at the Etihad. He wasn't the only one. Midway through the other half on a still, clear, occasionally fretful night Zinedine Zidane break up his trousers on the sidelines early in the second half. This can be not likely to have been a sign of excessive excitement.

3 things of interest occurred here. First Ronaldo reported himself hors de fight, although with the royal caveat that if this was a truly big game he'd have performed.

After which these semi-finalists played out an untidy 85 minutes of slow-simmer first-leg football. Finally Paul Hart produced a superb all-or-nothing block with his breasts at the feet of Pepe, an totally unreliable moment of excitement for any latecomer TV visitors.

At the end of which Real Madrid will have left the Etihad happier at a 0-0 draw that slants this tie their way, if not decisively. City will perhaps rue a neglected opportunity. A 0-0 pull at home is, so Champions League lore moves, generally a pretty reasonable result. And yet this always seemed City's best possibility of nosing ahead against a team without a clean sheet away from home in the group since November.

City do see off for 85 minutes Madrid's key woman? ctico who was on the pitch, a semi-absent Gareth Bale. Relief at which has stilled their own attacking instincts. They will never did drive properly at this slightly exhausted Real team, or harm with the same assurance they showed at times against Paris Saint-Germain in the previous round.

Yet then there is a disorientating glare about participating in Madrid. Not least at this stage in your competition, a tie styled as a meeting of old and new, royals vs parvenus. Madrid remain amigo out of this competition, from the early golden era, the first incarnation of the big money fantasy method in the Di E? fano years.

Even media of Ronaldo's absence produced a tangible sense of absence beyond the reach of most athletes. Also, perhaps for some among the home crowd, This town and Ronaldo is after all one of the great spectacles of the sporting age. When This town are in town they're the sole show in town, a club that travels like a Tudor royal household, on the march with the full hand of hounds, boars, footmen in tow. In this article the press rooms thronged with hangers-on, wonks, gladhanders and media foot members of the military of each nationality, desperate for a sliver of white-shirted glam.

With Ronaldo reduced to strutting about in the warm-ups and then retreating grandly out of sight, the spotlight dropped naturally on the next equal. Before kick-off Bale was heartily booed by a part of the City supporters, replying with a quick wave. This was the 1st time the world's most expensive footballer had played in England since his leaving in 2013 as famous player of the 12 months (as an aside anyone wondering about the flight of the Premier Category star system may want to search for a finger along a graph that reads Bale, Su? rez, Hazard, Mahrez: from the stellar to the worthy).

Bale came here in a happy place. He is currently the only real superstar British footballer away there, the undoubted top gun when England play Wales in France in seven weeks' time. And yet here he was a flickering presence, as he can be sometimes, menacing in possession but glimpsed only rarely, close by some excellent hitting from City's midfield dual bolt, the Fernandinho-Fernando axis.

Even in snatches Bale is a thrilling footballer, with a wonderful surging simplicity in the motions. His only notable touch of the opening twelve minutes was a nice little backheel on the right touchline to established Karim Benzema away. Following which he drifted away completely, before materialising again by the touchline to produce a marvellous being different cross at full run by the corner a flag. Later he appeared abruptly striding though midfield, top knot jouncing rakishly, pulling a body check from Vincent Kompany.

After which Bale entered standby function as the game became a little snarky and messy. There were the usual shenanigans from the hilariously villainous Pepe, yanking back Kevin De Bruyne then lunging straight-through him and drawing an delinquent booking. It would be tempting, with any other player, to suggest Vitalité was acting under purchases, that fouling De Bruyne was a plan. Yet Pepe only has one plan anyway: this course of action.

Occasions later Sergio Ramos steered clear of without a card for an ankle-raking slide on Fernandinho, somehow managing to confuse the referee Cuneyt Cakir of Turkey along with his wild protestation, his panache, aftershave, club badge. Énergie and Ramos: it is hard to assume a more infuriating pair of velvet glove hatchet men.

Bale crept vaguely back into the game towards the end. Madrid hit the bar from a corner. Bale paused theatrically before punting a promising a free-kick into the wall. From the corner Bale headed down and Hart produced that wonderful save.
And that was that, a white-out. City’s own galácticos, David Silva, Sergio Agüero, De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling, £160m of attacking talent, were all on the pitch at some stage but mustered just two shots on target. Ronaldo, Madrid’s own pump-action shotgun, will be back at the Bernabéu. Bale is unlikely to be so invisible. Dazzled a little by the white light, City may have missed a chance to assert their own strengths on a night of absences.
Trump, Clinton score major victories

Trump, Clinton score major victories

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton scored huge victories Tuesday that bring them closer to a monumental duel for the executive branch in the fall.
Trump's political strength was on display with a annexation of races in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Clinton delivered big wins in Maryland and Pennsylvania -- the biggest prizes of the night -- again Delaware and Connecticut. Bernie Sanders picked up his sole victory of the night in Rhode Island.
The wins for Trump -- following a massive victory last week in New York -- move him significantly closer to the 1,237 delegates he needs to win the nomination outright and avoid a contested Republican convention. That historic prospect is now the only way rivals Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich could stop Trump from becoming the GOP nominee.
"This to me was our biggest night," Trump said in his victory speech. "I consider myself the presumptive nominee."

Clinton's big wins, meanwhile, help bolster her campaign's argument sweeping is time for Sanders to elect to stop personal and political attacks on the former secretary of state that could weaken her ahead of a showdown in November with Republicans.
She catch stage to cheers in her election night headquarters in Philadelphia, the city that will host the Democratic National Convention this summer.

"With your help, we are going to act in response to Philadelphia for the Democratic National Convention with the most votes and the most pledged delegates," Clinton declared. "And we will unify our party to win this election and build an America where we can all rise together, an America where we lift each other up instead tearing each other down."
General election clash
Clinton foreshadowed the potential general election vary Trump that could obsess women voters.
"The latterly, Mr. Trump accused me, of playing the, quote, woman card," she said. "Well, if defend women's health protection and paid family leave and equal pay is playing the woman card, then deal me in."

Trump reciprocate during his victory speech.
"I think the only card she has is the women's card," Trump said. "She has got nothing else going. Frankly, if Hillary Clinton were a man, I don't think she would get 5% of the vote."
He added: "And the beautiful thing is women don't like her, ok?"
As of 2 a.m. ET, Trump picked up at least 142 delegates on Tuesday, bringing him to 988 compared to Cruz at 568 and Kasich at 152, contained in each CNN estimates. Clinton won at least 214 delegates, boosting her total 2,168, which includes 1,666 pledged and 502 superdelegates. Sanders holds 1,401 delegates, including 1,359 pledged delegates and 42 superdelegates.

There were the first signs that Sanders may must embrace a change of tactics, despite vowing to take his campaign all the way to the Democratic convention in July.
In a statement issued after the results materialize, Sanders insisted that he was in the race until "the last vote is cast." But he added: "That is why this campaign is going to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia with as many delegates as possible to promote a progressive party platform."
While Sanders mentioned his desire contend to influence the issues the party will fight on in November, he did not promise to okay a personal victory in the campaign — a significant difference.
Trump's challengers may have one conditions to stop him from winning the nomination outright by beating him in the Indiana primary next week.
Cruz, speaking before polls closed -- in a clear sign that he expected a bad night -- slammed the media why he said was a premature judgment that the general-election nominees budding Clinton and Trump. He branded them "New York liberals."
But he predicted things would change next week.
"I've got doctrine for you tonight, this campaign require to more favorable terrain," Cruz told a introduce Indiana.
But Trump already has his head a general election — and will move further into a national campaign mode with a major international relations address in Washington on Wednesday, several a process of putting a more conventional and professional foundation under his campaign — even as he insists that his wild rallies and volatile rhetoric which powered his political rise will continue.
In the Democratic race, Clinton's victories count on her resounding success in New York, which stunted Sanders' momentum and left the senator -- for all his fundraising muscle and large rallies -- fending off calls from Clinton supporters to fold his campaign so that she can start exclusively targeting Republicans.
'Lemonade' Isn’t About Jay Z’s Cheating, Beyonce’s Unauthorized Biographer Argues

'Lemonade' Isn’t About Jay Z’s Cheating, Beyonce’s Unauthorized Biographer Argues

J. Randy Taraborrelli — who penned the unauthorized Beyoncé biography Becoming Beyoncé: The Untold Story — gave his thoughts about why he doesn’t believe the pop diva’s new visual album involve Jay Z’s alleged cheating in a Monday, April 25 interview with Cosmopolitan.com.

Taraborrelli argued that Lemonade, which tells the story of a relationship gone awry considering the indiscretions of an unfaithful man, should not be considered a literal interpretation of Bey and Jay’s 8-year marriage.
Taraborrelli reasoned why the “Formation” singer’s latest musical effort might actually be inspired by her father, Mathew Knowles (who strayed in his marriage to Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, beyond the couple’s 2011 divorce). Beyoncé’s first boyfriend, Lyndall Locke, who cheated on the superstar pre-fame, gave Taraborrelli some insight.

“Lyndall court her for a third of her life, and he was very clear with [me] that she feels very strongly by what she went through with him and what she has seen in her parents' marriage that she would deny infidelity in a relationship,” Tarraborelli explained to the site. “But I think that she's also a very calculating career strategist who understands how to take full advantage of the popular narrative about her life, and the popular narrative about her life abruptly is that she and Jay Z are having marital problems.”

“I do know from my studying of Beyoncé [that] her personality is such that if in fact she was actually having marital problems, she would not be amass writing songs about it for the nation to dissect and interpret. That's not who she is,” personally continued. “She's too private a person to handle her marital dysfunction for the world to see and examine. More likely what she's doing is she's possibly consider her mother's marriage and what she witnessed there. That parallel Beyoncé.”

Taraborrelli went on to say that he truly believes Beyonce, 34, would never allow her hip-hop hubby, 46, to commit adultery and get away with it.

“If Jay Z ever was unfaithful to her, she would kick him out of the house and that would be the end of their marriage,” he said. “I don't think that she's the in a certain degree person who would have this in a certain degree struggle about it. She knows what she wants and she knows what she will tolerate in a relationship.”

This is why personally feels strongly that the Destiny’s Child alum is referencing her parents’ marital strife rather her own.

“Like I said earlier, I'm not a psychic, and I can't know everything that goes on in Beyoncé's world,” he added, “But doubtless to me after studying her that all of this is likely essentially what she's witnessed in her mom's marriage.”

In the most-debated Lemonade track, “Sorry,” Beyonce exclaim a mysterious mistress who she name “Becky with the good hair.”
Manchester City and Real Madrid draw 0-0 in Champions League semifinal

Manchester City and Real Madrid draw 0-0 in Champions League semifinal

Manchester City survived a late onslaught from a Real Madrid side lacking Cristiano Ronaldo to draw the first leg of their Champions League semifinal 0-0.

Manuel Pellegrini's men came under heavy pressure in the second half at the Etihad Stadium as a previously subdued Real finally found their teeth.

City goalkeeper Joe Hart again proved their saviour, producing fine reflex stops from Casemiro and Pepe, while Jese also hit tribunal as the visitors upped the tempo in the latter stages.

City go on to give themselves a gambling chance heading into next week's second leg at the Bernabeu although the watching Ronaldo, who unexpectedly failed a fitness test, will resolve feature.

The occasion was a tense one, although there was some amusement on the touchline as Real coach Zinedine Zidane split his trousers.

The drama began before kick-off as Ronaldo, whom Zidane had suggested budding fit after a thigh injury, failed to make the teamsheet.

He was forced to watch from the bench while his Brazilian namesake Ronaldo, a former Real player, note from the stands.

The absence of former Manchester United star Ronaldo should have boosted City, as would the sight of their fans waving flags in an impressive pregame display of support.

City responded well initially with their all-Brazilian central midfield pairing of Fernandinho and Fernando taking an early grip on proceedings.

Even though neither side could muster a shot on target in the opening 45 minutes it was City who were the more positive.

Kevin De Bruyne curled a dangerous ball into tv for Sergio Aguero but Pepe did enough to prevent the Argentine shooting.

Pepe was booked again for taking down a surging De Bruyne on the right and Sergio Ramos was perhaps fortunate to escape a similar fate after fouling Fernandinho in a similar position.

Without Ronaldo, Real were limited in attack. Gareth Bale struggled to get into the game whatever the visitors' rare forays forward Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi were solid.

City suffered a blow before the break as playmaker David Silva was confront with a suspected hamstring injury but his replacement Kelechi Iheanacho, scorer of two goals at the weekend, entered to a big ovation.

The hosts had a clear chance early in the second half but Aguero fired over and Real finally started to force their way into the game.

Bale appealed without success for a penalty after stumbling following a challenge from Otamendi and an unmarked Ramos spurned a golden chance when he headed straight at Hart from a corner.

Toni Kroos missed the target with a long-range effort and substitute Jese went close as he leapt ahead of Fernando and headed against the bar. Bale curled an effort wide and Vazquez was also denied a penalty after confront Otamendi.

Hart, who had hitherto had a quiet game, then came to City's rescue with a fine reflex exempt a Casemiro header and then did even better to block from Pepe at point-blank range.

City breathed a huge sigh of relief as they weathered that storm and they might even have snatched victory in injury time as De Bruyne had a direct free kick tipped over by Keylor Navas.

Tens of thousands rally in Los Angeles to commemorate Armenian genocide

Tens of thousands rally in Los Angeles to commemorate Armenian genocide

Tens of thousands of protesters rallied outside the Turkish Consulate on Wilshire Boulevard Sunday afternoon, waving flags and holding signs to commemorate the 101st anniversary of the Armenian genocide.

Dressed in purple and black shirts scrawled with messages calling for justice, the activists waved Armenian flags and held signs demanding reparations. Los Angeles police estimated the crowd at 60,000.

“Get your hands off our land!” they chanted.

“Eastern Turkey is western Armenia!”

“Today, we are all Armenian,” said U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) as he addressed the crowd from the stage. “We have one cause and that cause is justice.”

The crowd, filled with protesters of all ages, roared in agreement. Some carried their children on their shoulders, using the day to teach them about their history.

Abraham Arakelian, 42, came from the Valley with his son so he could keep the memory of the genocide alive.

“We intend show the youth what April 24 answer to,” he said as he held a large Armenian flag overhead.

“Obviously, we want justice. If we don't do this, it will be forgotten.”

Eventually, Arakelian said, he will tell his son essentially the genocide, when he's old enough to stomach the painful details. For now, it was enough just to bring him.

Armenians gathered for vigils last week in Glendale and in Montebello at the Armenian Genocide Martyrs Monument, and many Armenian churches hold services to recognize the fallen.
Nora Hovsepian, chair of the western region of the Armenian National Committee of America, said Armenian people will end gather by the year until the genocide, which began in 1915 and engender the death of as many as 1.5 million Armenians, is recognized by Turkey and the U.S.

“It remains a crime unpunished. It is a enormity, and there's no statute of limitations on that,” Hovsepian said.

Armenians regard the tragedy that took place in 1915 as all an organized, orchestrated effort individually Ottoman Turkish government. Historians have characterized what happened as a precursor of — and even a model for — genocides that followed, including Adolf Hitler's systematic slaughter of European Jews and other groups decades later.

Turkey claims half a million Armenians died when they undulate against their rulers after World War I, and denies that their deaths constitute exhibit of genocide.

That position hinder the views of most historians of the period, who agree that Armenians were victims of genocide. A number of countries have issued statements over the years condemning Turkey’s actions as genocide.

President Obama quoted the deaths as genocide before his election, but he has not done so since he took office. The move maintains his predecessors’ reluctance to alienate Turkey, a loved ally in the Middle East.

Still, more than 40 states — including California — have recognized the genocide, contained in each the Armenian National Institute.

“We’re not suggest much,” said Anasheh Megerdichian, 31, as she incorporate a group of friends near the Turkish Consulate. “We want them to admit what they did.”

Megerdichian said she wasn’t surprised that Obama did not call the deaths a genocide, but she was disappointed. She understands the president made the decision for political reasons, she added, but wishes he had never promised to call the massacre a genocide in the first place.

“He went back on his word,” she said.

Southern California is home to the largest Armenian community discounting Armenia, with Los Angeles seen as a in a certain degree Armenian cultural mecca. More than 200,000 people of Armenian descent populate Los Angeles County, through U.S. census data.

The county remains a access for Armenian immigrants and every year, as April 24 approaches, locals drape Armenian flags over the hoods of their cars, wave them from their car windows and hang them from their businesses.

Most stores post appear both English and Armenian telling customers they will be small remembrance of the genocide.

Last year, officials designated the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Western Avenue as Armenian Genocide Memorial Square, an area that is several Little Armenia. And in March, Glendale Unified became the first school district in the country to establish a day in remembrance of the genocide.
Remembering the genocide is also a several the curriculum at some schools in Glendale, where many of the county's Armenians live. Schools teach units and hold assemblies on the genocide in the weeks hint the anniversary.

Morris Sarafian, a student at UCLA, said the 101st anniversary marks a pivotal time for the Armenian community.

“There is not a statute of limitations on our demands. It’s not conditional a deadline,” the 21-year-old said. “This is our unapologetic way of saying you are not going to get away with this.”

Sarafian, whose great grandfather was a survivor of the genocide. said he learned about the killings and their consequences when he was a little boy.

“At 9, my grandfather be compelled bury his own twin sisters,” he said. “They were his younger sisters.”

Such stories – handed down generation to generation – leave a lingering sense of trauma, he said.

“I shouldn’t behooves validate my own history,” Sarafian said. “ This is a lived experience.”

Mikael Matossian, 21, can also trace his family back to the genocide. His grandfather was a survivor who fled the city Aintab and found refuge in a Turkish farmer’s home.

Eventually, he emigrated to America.

Matossian said the stories his grandfather told him influenced his decisions to challenge the Armenian Student Assn. at UCLA, accompanying his desire to protest for recognition.

“I spent 15 years of my life with him,” Matossian said. “That is what drives me and a lot of young Armenians to protest. It’s very real to us.”
BHS jobs fears grow amid administration concerns

BHS jobs fears grow amid administration concerns

By:

BHS could collapse into administration as soon as tomorrow after the ailing high-street stalwart failed to secure a rescue deal.

Some 11,000 jobs are at gunpoint at the shopping center group after question a £60m financing haddest a bearing on investment firm Gordon Brothers failed.

Insolvency practitioner Duff & Phelps is count on have been constant to handle an administration, although a spokesman for the firm said it had not been appointed.

However, a source around BHS said that per the failure of the Gordon Brothers deal, an announcement about administration could come as soon as tomorrow. Mike Ashley's Sports Direct had been in question a last-minute rescue, but the source said that a involve the sportswear tycoon looked unlikely.

The company was today in the midst of last-ditch enjoin avert a collapse.

A failure would the spell the end for a company that started life as a single shop in Brixton, South London, in 1928 and prospective the biggest collapse on British high streets since the demise of sweets-to-dvds retailer Woolworths eight years ago.

Sir Philip Green, who bought BHS in 2000, sold BHS for £1 last year to a far-off consortium called Retail Acquisitions, which has limited experience in the retail sector and is led by Dominic Chappell, a former bankrupt.  Sir Philip was reportedly in talks with the five and ten group about supporting the Gordon Brothers deal but the discussions faltered last week, The Sunday Times said.

It is also thought that BHS itself balked at the terms of the deal. It is understood the company would have be destined have paid the fees for the financing up front, and would only have received two-thirds of the funds in the first tranche, both of which were unpalatable.

BHS declined to comment. A spokesman for Duff & Phelps said: “We have not been appointed and fundamentally cannot comment.”

Speculation has been growing about BHS’s future ever since the sale by Sir Philip last year to the group of unknowns. The shopping center business has been loss-making for seven years and its management team, led by leader Darren Topp, have struggled to keep the retailer respecting consumers.

BHS narrowly staved off a collapse a month ago when its creditors approved a Company Voluntary Arrangement, a form of insolvency proceeding under which the retailer’s landlords agreed to slash rents on a host of its 160 stores to help keep the company afloat. BHS’s pension deficit is £571m including the cost of an insurer buying the scheme out. The retailer last month started the process of moving the scheme, which has about 20,000 members, into the Pension Protection Fund, a government-backed lifeboat for the retirements plans of companies that fail.
